Emmett Kane, MT ASCP, MPH
Emmett was a Hospital Chief Laboratory Supervisor, Corporate Senior Vice President / Senior Management Committee member with Laboratory Corporation of America and the Managing Director for Quest Diagnostics in Northern California during the post acquisition integration of Unilab and Quest. He was also a Unilab Executive Vice President and Northern California’s President/General Manager prior to Quest’s acquisition of Unilab. His responsibilities included managing all aspects of a $170 million for-profit laboratory operation including two full service laboratories, processing 15 million tests per year with 2000 employees and 230 Patient Service Centers.
In these various roles, Emmett has led numerous high profile activities in all aspects of the clinical laboratory including collaborating with a number of national consulting groups to address issues such as service excellence and strategic planning. Emmett periodically provides investment advice as a member of a number of expert networks. He also participates as a workshop panel member with investment banker Cowen and Company’s Annual Health Care Conference and has presented at national workshops.
Emmett’s undergraduate degree is from Northern Michigan University and he has a Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan. He spent two years in small workshops with management guru Peter Drucker in an Advanced Executive MBA program at Claremont Graduate School.
